Shrijal Desai

Shrijal Desai's work experience includes serving as a Research Scientist at Haima Therapeutics since 2020. Prior to this, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University from 2019 to 2021, where they assisted with clinical research on improving the lives of adults with HIV. From 2019 to 2021, they also worked as a Research Associate at BioEnterprise, contributing to efforts aimed at preventing chronic diseases in low-resource neighborhoods. In 2018, Desai served as a Graduate Researcher at Case Western Reserve University, focusing on qualitative studies on psychedelic therapy for addiction treatment. In the same year, they were a Student Leader at Case Western Reserve University - Weatherhead School of Management, where they received leadership coaching and professional development. Prior to this, they gained experience as an Emergency Department Medical Scribe at Presence Health in 2017, where they maintained patient records and monitored vital signs. Desai's earlier work experience includes serving as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Beckman Institute at Illinois from 2016 to 2018, conducting research on the relationship between fitness, diet, and memory, as well as the impact of aging on memory. Shrijal also worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2016 to 2017, focusing on investigating the link between gut microbiome and human health. Additionally, Desai worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2014 to 2016, where they conducted gene expression analysis and managed laboratory functions.

Shrijal Desai's education history includes obtaining a Master's degree in Bioethics and Medical Humanities from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine from 2018 to 2019. Prior to that, from 2014 to 2018, Shrijal earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Integrative Biology Honors and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Additionally, in June 2021, Shrijal obtained certification as a National Certified Phlebotomy Technician from The BioPhlebotomy Group.
