The Role:

Halcyon’s goal is to deliver an anti-ransomware solution that breaks new ground as to what a security product can deliver.  Aligned with this goal, Halcyon is looking for an experienced engineer to contribute to the development of our Windows and Linux agents.  Our agent is the main endpoint communications hub and analysis engine that is used to help ensure our customers are protected from the threat of ransomware.

Responsibilities:

  • Write multi-platform code that can transform messages, process data, communicate over IPC channels, interface with components in different languages, and interact with Web APIs.

  • Diagnose and fix issues using a debugger or by analyzing software logs.

  • Optimize code using profiling tools.

  • Write tests for your code to ensure quality.

  • Contribute to and follow Coding Style guidelines

  • Communicate with other developers and teams to ensure that the component works well within the product architecture

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to develop high-quality code in Rust

  • Experience with Linux and/or Windows APIs

  • Knowledge and experience with the following Rust packages: threading, async, tokio

  • Familiarity with SQL

Bonus Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of additional languages (Python/C++)

  • Familiarity with tools for Rust / C++ interoperability such as, bindgen, cpp!, autocxx/cxx crate, cbindgen

  • Knowledge of Linux or Windows Kernel

Base Salary Range: $130,000 - $180,000

Bonus Target: 10%

In accordance with applicable state and federal laws, the range provided is Halcyon’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity in the Company.
