Rebecca Nardacci is an accomplished researcher and engineer specializing in environmental technologies. Currently serving as a Water Technology and Research Intern at HRSD since May 2023, Rebecca has also held multiple graduate assistant positions at Virginia Tech College of Engineering, collaborating on research and innovation initiatives as well as supporting diversity in engineering. Previous experience includes roles as a Water/Wastewater Engineer Intern at Dewberry, a Consultant in Data Analysis at RS21, and a LIDAR Research Assistant at the University of Virginia. Education includes a PhD in Environmental Engineering at Virginia Tech from 2023 to 2026, an MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from 2021 to 2023, and a BS in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia.

Welcome. Since HRSD's inception, there has been one overriding mission -- to protect public health and the waters of Hampton Roads by treating wastewater effectively. HRSD returns treated effluent to nature in a way that will continue to nurture our water's delicate ecosystems. HRSD's workforce of scientists, engineers, water quality professionals and other staff know they must be sensitive to the needs of people and also be sensitive to the plants and animals who rely on our ability to protect their habitats.
