Jodi Preston-Thomas

Jodi Preston-Thomas has extensive experience in event management and fundraising. Jodi is currently working as the Events and Business Partnerships Manager at Harbour Hospice since September 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Conference Manager at The Conference Company Ltd from January 2016 to October 2022. Before that, they served as an Event Manager at Coastguard New Zealand from March 2014 to January 2016 and as a Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator at Coastguard New Zealand from January 2013 to October 2013. Jodi also worked as a Fundraising & Event Manager at Variety NZ - The Children's Charity from January 2008 to December 2012, where they were responsible for managing multiple events and fundraising initiatives. Their earlier experience includes working as a Conference Manager and Exhibition Manager at the Medical Industry Association of NZ (now MTANZ) from March 2004 to July 2007.

Jodi Preston-Thomas attended Westlake Girls High School from 1985 to 1989, where they obtained a University Entrance qualification. Following high school, they attended The University of Auckland from 1990 to 1994 and earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. In 2006, Jodi attended the Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) for a short period, completing an Executive Certificate in Meeting and Event Management. Later, in 2013 to 2015, they pursued further education at the International Festival and Events Association, acquiring a certification as a Certified Festival and Event Executive with a focus on Event Management.
