SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The Senior Superintendent will elevate the company mission statement by acting as the next level support; channel for project Superintendents assigned to the Region. Within the region, this position has primary responsibility for all field operations including safety, quality, production, personnel, and equipment; with these duties carried out through effective management of our project Superintendents and Craftworkers.

Available to Superintendents to assist with planning and organizing jobsite tasks to ensure completion of the project according to schedule.
Available to assist Superintendents with managing trade partners and help as needed to ensure subs are cooperative in providing proper resources for the work.
Coordinate with Superintendents regarding staffing and equipment needs for projects.
Review, with Superintendents during project visits, their plans for scheduling work over the next two to six weeks, and offer input as needed.
Serve as subject matter expert with respect to materials and methods during the preconstruction process.
Cost Control/Preconstruction
Identify and recommend process improvements and cost savings in construction activities.
Ensure that Superintendents understand how costs relating to labor, materials, trade partners, equipment, and general conditions affect the job cost and profit objectives.
Serve as subject matter expert with respect to materials and methods during the preconstruction process.
Assist with proposal development process (site visit, means, methods, schedule).
Assist with business development.
Personnel
Hiring and staffing of field personnel (Superintendents and below).
Quarterly and annual performance reviews of field personnel (Superintendents and below).
Resource allocation; coordinate with Human Resources and Superintendents to assign Harper employees to meet jobsite needs for personnel.
Resolve employee concerns/disputes with input/involvement of HR as necessary; and to address any performance or behavioral issues of Harper personnel.
Approve and schedule vacation days of Superintendents and Harper jobsite personnel and assign others to fill voids as necessary due to scheduled employee vacations.
Oversee separations/terminations.

COMPETENTCIES
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 10 years of jobsite supervision experience.
Scheduling:
Can effectively navigate and resolve conflicts regarding design.
Can effectively run a Trade Partner coordination meeting.
Can effectively run an OAC meeting.
Can effectively solve clashes and conflicts of building systems in a manner that does not compromise the engineered basis of design.
Develop and supervise an affective QAQC program.
Supervise a project utilizing BIM technologies:
OSHA 30 certified.
Proven track record of a strong safety culture on the jobsite – is a leader in safety.
Has experience building from the ground up on more than 5 projects as a Superintendent.
Understand construction means and methods for all scopes of work.
Ability to communicate and develop relationships with City, local agencies and utility representatives.
Demonstrate a thorough and detailed understanding of:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Weekly check-in with Superintendent and corresponding teammates (i.e Foreman, Craftworks, Crew Leaders, etc.)
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The Senior Superintendent is required to work in a variety of conditions relative to construction jobsite environments and must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, as assigned. Weather and climate conditions will vary throughout the progress of a project and the superintendent must be able to inspect all ongoing construction activities over the duration of the assigned project. This role requires walking over varied terrain, climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting. Lifting requirements vary from minimal loads to heavy; but help is always available with heavier loads. Inspection for quality, consistency and completeness of work frequently requires climbing ladders, stairs, and scaffolding.
Driving a company-owned vehicle is required to perform the duties of this job including: a valid state-issued license, a satisfactory motor vehicle record, safe driving behavior, and must adhere to our Driving and Truck Policy.
TRAVEL REQUIRED: Regular travel to multiple sites daily/weekly. Potential overnight or extended travel to reach distant projects.
