Michiel van der Vaart is a seasoned professional in the field of research and academia, currently serving as Team Manager Research Programs at Hartstichting since June 2021, with prior roles including Coordinating Research Manager and Research Manager. From October 2016 to December 2020, Michiel held positions as Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral Researcher at Leiden University, focusing on immune defense against tuberculosis. Michiel co-founded Science in Sync in 2016, which aimed to enhance scientific communication, and was the Project Lead for the eLife Innovation Sprint 2020, fostering collaboration among researchers and technologists.
