Joe Sedlak

Joe Sedlak, PhD, is currently an M.D./Ph.D. candidate at Harvard University, where studies in medicine and biophysics are pursued concurrently. Previously, Joe co-founded Mercy BioAnalytics, Inc., focusing on the development of a novel liquid biopsy for cancer detection. Experience includes serving as a clinical scientist at nference, where the nferX Artificial Intelligence platform was utilized to synthesize biomedical knowledge. Joe's early career involved research as an undergraduate assistant at the University of Michigan Health System, along with instructional roles as a peer research instructor and undergraduate student instructor in organic chemistry. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan and is on track to complete both the Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from Harvard Medical School by May 2025.
