Kartik Lamba has a diverse work experience spanning over the years. Kartik served as the Director of Hardware Engineering at Harvest Thermal from April 2023. Prior to that, they were the Principal Hardware Engineer and Founder at copper+glass since January 2017. Kartik also took on the role of Stay-at-home Dad for a year, starting in August 2019 and ending in July 2020.
Kartik's previous professional experience includes being the Director of Hardware Engineering at Common Networks from July 2017 to August 2019. In this role, they were responsible for determining the hardware strategy of the wireless networking startup, including building, buying, or partnering on new hardware products.
Before this, Kartik worked as a Senior Electrical Engineer at 3D Robotics from October 2015 to July 2016. Here, they were involved in the electrical system architecture of multirotor vehicles and flight controllers. Kartik researched, selected, prototyped, and validated new flight sensors and interfaced with imaging sensors for scene-awareness.
Kartik's earlier experience includes being a Senior Electrical Design Engineer at Square Inc. from March 2011 to September 2015. As one of the early members of the Square hardware team, they contributed to the development of multiple products, including the Square Reader and Square Register.
Kartik also worked as a Design Engineer at Linear Technology from January 2006 to March 2011. Here, they designed high-efficiency DC/DC power converters and contributed to the development of analog/mixed-signal circuit blocks.
Kartik started their career as a Physical Design Intern at nVIDIA in June 2003. Kartik was involved in the physical design of a multimedia/graphics chip for embedded devices, utilizing tools such as Synopsys PD toolkit and programming in Perl/C to improve internal methodologies.
Kartik Lamba obtained a High School Diploma from the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy in the years 1997 to 2000. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Science & Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2000 to 2004. Kartik then continued their education at MIT, earning a Masters of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from 2004 to 2006.
