Joel Spolsky

Joel Spolsky is a software industry veteran with a wide range of experience. Joel was the Co-Founder of HASH since January 2019. Before that, they served as the Chairman and Co-Founder of Glitch (formerly Fog Creek Software) since September 2000. During their tenure at Glitch, they were involved in various endeavors, including FogBugz, Kiln, Copilot, and Glitch. Joel also played a significant role in the creation of Trello and Stack Overflow.

At Stack Overflow, Joel Spolsky initially served as the CEO and Co-Founder from January 2008 to September 2019. During this time, they helped developers learn, share knowledge, and advance their skills. Joel continued their involvement with Stack Overflow as Chairman from October 2019 to August 2021.

Before their time at Stack Overflow, they were a Software Team Lead at Juno from 1996 to 1999. Joel also worked as a Consultant at Viacom Interactive Services from 1995 to 1997 and as a Program Manager at Microsoft from 1991 to 1993.

Joel Spolsky attended Yale University from 1988 to 1991, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science.
