Burt Lum

Burt has more than 30 years in Hawaii’s technology and telecommunications sector. He is an Instructor at University of Hawaii in the Information & Computer Science Dept. and works as a Legislative Analyst for the City & County of Honolulu City Council. His online activities include social media, community building, blogging, video and audio podcasting, content curation and citizen journalism. Burt currently produces a weekly science and technology show with co-host Ryan Ozawa on Hawaii Public Radio called Bytemarks Cafe. For the last 9 years he as also planned and coordinated an annual grassroots technology event called the Unconferenz. He is also a key organizer for Hawaii Annual Code Challenge.
