Laurie Simpson

Laurie Simpson has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Laurie is currently the Human Resources Director at HCTC since January 2020. From 2011 to 2020, they worked as the Member Relations Manager at NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2011, they served as the Sr Analyst - Compensation & Benefits at GVTC. Laurie also worked as a Financial Accountant at GVTC in 1998 and as an Accounting Supervisor at South Plains Electric Cooperative from 1989 to 1995.

Laurie Simpson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Accounting from Texas Tech University. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career. These certifications include the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) from SHRM, obtained in November 2015, and the Professional in Human Resources (PHR®) from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI, obtained in January 2009. Recently, in April 2021, Laurie obtained a certification titled "Having Difficult Conversations: A Guide for Managers" from LinkedIn. It is also mentioned that they hold a PHR certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute, although the month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
