Elmer Sobalbarro Umana currently works at Health Brigade as a Medical Clinic Intern, assisting with patient intake and translating medical language for Spanish-speaking patients. Additionally, Elmer serves as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Richmond, focusing on identifying zoonotic diseases in rodents. Previous experience includes roles as a College Access Fellow and Education Volunteer, where Elmer helped students overcome learning obstacles and improve academic skills. Elmer also co-founded Community Ties, a program aimed at improving police-community relations in Trenton.
