Alex Akass is an experienced professional with a diverse background in software engineering and leadership roles. Starting in 2007 at Nicegroup as a PHP/MYSQL Developer, Alex went on to work at Cimex Media Ltd as a Web Technologist, where they worked on various projects across different platforms. In 2011, Alex began working as a contractor, taking on various short roles as a Software Engineer and gaining extensive knowledge and experience in PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Code Igniter, and Zend. In 2019, Alex joined Petards as a Senior Software Engineer, tasked with designing and implementing an online platform to track and monitor the real-time progress of trains in the UK. Alex also founded and served as the Technical Director of Boxed Rocket Limited, where they were responsible for development work and infrastructure. They later transitioned to the role of CEO at BoxedFish Ltd, working on multiple projects and gaining experience in web development, networking, and more. In 2019, Alex joined The Scottish Government as a PHP, JavaScript & GIS Developer and was later promoted to Development Team Lead, implementing Agile processes and managing the development team. Most recently, Alex joined HN as the Head of Engineering, leading the redesign of the Data Science Platform, upskilling data scientists, and accelerating model development and deployment.

Alex Akass attended the University of Greenwich from 2002 to 2007, where they obtained a 1st class BSc Hons in Multimedia Technology. Prior to university, Alex Akass attended Bexleyheath School, although the specific dates and degree obtained are unknown.
