Helen Stokes has a diverse range of work experience in the legal field. Helen began their career as a Trainee Solicitor at Herbert Smith Freehills in 2008 and worked there until 2010. Helen then joined Royal Mail as a Senior Legal Advisor, where they provided competition law advice and guidance. In 2015, Helen moved to Addleshaw Goddard, initially as an Associate and later as a Managing Associate. During their time there, they gained experience in various legal roles. In 2016, they worked as a Competition Legal Secondee at BP. Eventually, Helen joined Heathrow in 2017 as the Head of Legal for Regulation and Operations, leading a team in advising on competition matters and legal issues related to the company's operational business. Throughout their career, Helen has developed expertise in areas such as competition law, commercial negotiations, regulatory compliance, and leadership engagement.

Helen Stokes has a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy and Political Economy from the University of Exeter, which they earned from 2002 to 2005. Helen then pursued a Graduate Diploma in Competition Law at King's College London from 2011 to 2012. Prior to that, they completed a GDL (Graduate Diploma in Law) at Nottingham Law School from 2006 to 2007, followed by an LPC (Legal Practice Course) at BPP Law School from 2007 to 2008.
