Baris I. Erkmen

Baris I. Erkmen is the CEO of Hedron. Baris was previously the Wireless Optical Communications Lead (CTO) of Project Taara at X (formerly Google[x]). Prior to that, they were the Research and Development Manager at Facebook Connectivity Lab. Before that, they were a Senior Staff Hardware Engineer at X Labs (formerly Google[x]) where they worked on advanced communications technology development for Project Loon.

Dr. Baris I. Erkmen graduated from the TED Ankara Koleji high school in Ankara, Turkey. Baris then attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where they received their B.S. (2002) and M.Eng. (2003) in Electrical Engineering, and their Ph.D. (2008). Dr. Erkmen also has a certification from The Leadership Consortium (TLC) in the TLC Leaders Program Certificate of Completion.
