Associate Director New Product Development at Helen of Troy

Sam Jackson has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Sam started their career in 2002 as a Platoon Officer and Instructor at the US Coast Guard Academy, where they led platoons and taught leadership and nautical science. Sam later served as an Adjunct Professor at the US Naval Academy, teaching a Strength of Materials class.

In 2007, Sam joined the US Coast Guard as an Engineering Project Manager and later became an Assistant Acquisition Project Manager. In these roles, they managed large contracts and oversaw the development and deployment of engineering upgrades to Coast Guard ships, including icebreakers and buoy tenders.

From 2015 to 2018, Sam worked at Greentown Labs, first as Director of Operations and then as Senior Director of Operations. Sam was responsible for managing the operations, maintenance, and budgeting of the lab, office, and event spaces, as well as delivering member company services and implementing policies.

Since 2018, Sam has been working at Helen of Troy as an Associate Director of New Product Development. In this role, they lead a team of engineers and program managers in taking small appliances, such as humidifiers, water purification systems, and beauty tools, from concept to finished products.

Sam Jackson has a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University, which was obtained from 2005 to 2007. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the US Coast Guard Academy between 1996 and 2000. Sam also holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute, obtained in March 2015. In addition, they obtained the Engineer In Training certification in June 2000.
