Peter Trodler has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Peter started their career in 2003 as a Scientific Associate at the Institute of Technical Biochemistry at the University of Stuttgart. Afterward, they worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist in the same institute. In 2008, they joined Midas Pharma as a Project Manager for Fine Chemicals, where they managed international development projects and collaborated with affiliates in China, France, Italy, Korea, and Poland. Peter also conducted patent evaluations for the company. In 2013, Peter became the Head of New Generic APIs, International Division at Midas Pharma, where they identified and coordinated development projects of active pharmaceutical ingredients and final dosage forms. Additionally, they led a group of project managers and provided consulting and support for main principals.
Peter then switched to Gleiss Große Schrell & Partner Patent- und Rechtsanwälte in 2014, initially as a Patent Attorney Trainee. Peter later became a Patent Counsel, responsible for providing legal counsel on patent matters. Peter worked there until 2019 when they joined Heliatek as the Head of Intellectual Property. In this role, they managed patent applications, evaluated patent strategies, analyzed freedom-to-operate, and dealt with office actions and oppositions related to photovoltaic elements.

From 1997 to 2003, they attended the University of Stuttgart, where they received a Diplom in Chemie.
In 2003, they continued their education at the University of Stuttgart and obtained a Doktor (Ph.D.) in Technische Biochemie in 2008.
In 2005 to 2007, they studied at the Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca in the field of Dipartimento Biotecnologie e Bioscienze.
In 2007, they briefly studied at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai, focusing on the Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology.
From 2010 to 2012, they pursued additional studies at the FernUniversität in Hagen, with a focus on Gewerblicher Rechtsschutz.
Lastly, from 2014 to 2016, they continued their legal studies at the FernUniversität in Hagen, specializing in Recht für Patentanwältinnen und Patentanwälte.
