Alexander Kormanos

Alexander Kormanos, PE, currently serves as the Specialty Division Design Manager at Helical Drilling, a position held since November 2023. Prior to this role, Kormanos worked at Geopier as the East Area Manager and Senior Project Engineer from July 2022 to November 2023. Previous experience includes a position as a Civil Engineer (Structural) with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command from October 2020 to June 2022, and a Geotechnical Engineer at GEI Consultants, Inc. from February 2017 to October 2020. Kormanos also held the role of Senior Project Engineer at Haley & Aldrich from January 2016 to January 2017 and served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Tech, focusing on coastal protection designs, from August 2014 to December 2015. Kormanos began a career in civil engineering as a US Navy Officer/Civil Engineer with NAVFAC from November 2007 to July 2014, managing diverse construction projects. Kormanos holds a Master of Science in Geotechnical Engineering from Virginia Tech, a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Norwich University, and a Master of Civil Engineering in Structural Engineering from Norwich University.
