David J. Taggart has an extensive work experience in the field of genomics and laboratory operations. David J. is currently serving as the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) at Helio Genomics since December 2021, where they also previously held the role of Laboratory Director. Prior to joining Helio Genomics, David worked at MorNuCo, Inc. as the Laboratory Director and Director of Proteomics Research from 2014 to 2016. David J. gained valuable research experience as a Post Doctoral Researcher at The Ohio State University from 2011 to 2014. David started their career as a Research Assistant/PhD student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2004 to 2011. David J. began their research journey as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Michigan State University from 2001 to 2004, where they worked in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

David J. Taggart has a strong educational background in the field of Biochemistry. David J. obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Michigan State University, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Afterwards, they pursued further studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry from 2004 to 2011. In addition to their academic achievements, they also hold a certification as a Clinical Chemist from the National Registry of Certified Chemists (NRCC).
