Tekalegn Fekadu's work experience includes various roles in humanitarian and refugee affairs organizations. Tekalegn started their career in 2011 as a Public Health Team Leader at ARRA, where they worked until 2014. From 2014 to 2017, they served as a Program Officer at ARRA. Tekalegn then worked as a Camp Coordinator at ARRA from December 2017 to March 2019. Following that, they joined Action Against Hunger | ACF-USA as a Deputy Field Coordinator from April 2019 to March 2020, and later as a Field Coordinator from April 2020 to June 2021. Currently, Tekalegn is employed at HelpAge International, where they have held the positions of Program Coordinator from June 2021 to November 2021, Senior Humanitarian Program Officer from December 2021 to February 2023, and is currently serving as the Deputy Head of Humanitarian Program from March 2023 onwards.

Tekalegn Fekadu completed their Masters degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Project Management from Leadstar College of Management and Leadership in 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a BSC degree in Public Health from Jimma University, between the years 2008 and 2011. Additionally, Tekalegn received a Certificate in Humanitarian Leadership from the Atlas Corps Virtual Leadership Institute, although the specific duration of this program is unknown.
