Kim Perkins

Director, K-12 Programs, Charlotte Office at Helps Education Fund

Kimberly Perkins joined Helps Education Fund in March 2019. In her role as Program Director for HELPS, Charlotte, she leads a team that will scale the program from 10 Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools in third grade to 14 Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools across second and third grade. Her focus will be on implementing the program with fidelity while increasing the amount of students that will benefit across the region.

Before joining Helps Education Fund, Kim was Executive Director for Lily Pad Haven. She led a team that provided safe housing and wrap around services to survivors of human trafficking. Previously she held the position of Director of Operations and Development at a DC non-profit for 13 years. Kim started her career working on Capitol Hill as a legislative aide. She graduated from Florida State University majoring in Political Science. Kim has a strong commitment to social justice and equity.

She lives in Charlotte with her husband Sean and three daughters, Charlie, River and Trinity. Kim coaches Girls on the Run and is a 3 X Ironman finisher.
