Katherine Hekstra J.d., M.h.s

Katherine Hekstra, J.D., M.H.S, currently serves as an Associate Attorney at Helsell Fetterman LLP, specializing in medical malpractice defense within the Healthcare Litigation practice since November 2022. Previous experience includes a legal externship at the Office of Legislative Counsel State of California and a law clerk position at The Arns Law Firm, where Katherine conducted legal research, drafted motions, and managed exhibits for plaintiff defense and class action cases. Additional roles include a policy advocacy internship at the ACLU of Washington and a judicial internship for Judge Matthew Williams at King County Superior Court. Katherine's early career involved data collection and coordination as a Graduate Research Assistant for the Food Access in Michigan Study and as a Clinical Services Specialist at Adaptive Biotechnologies Corp. Educational qualifications consist of a Doctor of Law degree from the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco, a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Grand Valley State University.
