Catherine Freeland is the Associate Director of Public Health Research at the Hepatitis B Foundation. Catherine has worked in the public health field for over six years, conducting research and developing proposals to improve awareness and prevention of viral hepatitis and liver cancer. In their previous position as Academic Health Department Coordinator Graduate Assistant at East Tennessee State University, they supervised and mentored undergraduate and MPH students interning at the Sullivan County Health Department. Catherine has also worked as a Public Health Consultant with FIRE - Flagstaff International Relief Effort, where they created proposals to improve knowledge, attitude and practice around viral hepatitis and liver cancer within Mongolia. Catherine is passionate about improving public health outcomes and has dedicated their career to working towards this goal.

Catherine Freeland has a Master's Degree in Public Health from East Tennessee State University and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Hanover College. Catherine is also certified in Interprofessional Collaboration and Communication in Healthcare from the University of California San Francisco.
