Garrett Schwing

Garrett Schwing has a diverse work experience that spans several industries and roles. Starting in 1991, they served as a Petty Officer in the United States Naval Special Warfare Command until 1996. Garrett then went on to operate a family business, Schwing's Bali Hai, Inc., as the Owner/COO from 1996 to 2003, managing a multi-million dollar restaurant and catering operation while attending college full time. In 2000, they ventured into the scuba diving industry and developed a successful scuba diving retail, instruction, service, and travel store called Seal Sports, Inc., which is still operating today. In 2003, Schwing transitioned to the pharmaceutical industry, joining Genentech as a Senior Clinical Specialist, where they promoted specialty injectables. Garrett later became a Division Sales Manager for Hospital Sales, Thrombolytics, and then Division Sales Manager for Neuroscience, Multiple Sclerosis. In 2017, they joined Achaogen as a Regional Business Director and Market Access Director, where they designed and built the infrastructure for launching a lead product. Currently, Schwing is working at Heron Therapeutics, Inc., where they started in 2019 as a District Business Manager before progressing to Sr. Area Sales Director - West U.S., and finally National Sales Director, Acute Care.

Garrett Schwing earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Southeastern Louisiana University, which they attended from 1997 to 2000. Prior to that, from 1988 to 1989, they pursued General Studies at Louisiana State University. Garrett completed their high school education at St Pauls High School in Covington, Louisiana, from 1983 to 1988.
