ABOUT THE ROLE

Herschel Supply Company seeks a driven Product Development Technician to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual passionate about crafting top-tier products for our Global travel brand. As a Product Development Technician, you will play a pivotal role in the product development and production processes, acting as a liaison between the design team and manufacturing partners.

As a remote resource to the Vancouver headquarters, you will need to be hard working, entrepreneurial in spirit, willing to work outside of normal business hours and have a firm command of the English language.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES INCLUDE:

• Creating meticulous tech packs based on initial design concepts, ensuring alignment with creative vision.
• Generating seasonal merchandising breakdowns for global distribution channels.
• Iterating tech packs based on product revisions.
• Creating and maintaning Bill of Materials (BOMs) on all relevant product categories.
• Maintaining data integrity in PLM system throughout product lifecycle.
• Maintaining clear and efficient communication with internal development teams and external partners.
• Collaborating closely with design and development teams to ensure product integrity, fit, and manufacturing feasibility.
• Providing detailed instructions and feedback to factories for sample adjustments.
• Addressing any sample inconsistencies and ensuring product quality standards prior to photoshoots and sales presentations.
• Partnering with QA & Compliance Manager to uphold rigorous quality and regulatory standards.
• Cultivating strong vendor relationships through regular communication and collaboration.
• Spearheading initiatives for continuous process improvement.

ABOUT YOU

• 5+ years of experience in developing bags and other product categories, including apparel.
• Extremely proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Excel, and Microsoft Office. Experience with CLO 3D is a plus
• Demonstrated ability in creating BOMs and technical packages.
• Experience in developing production-ready graphic packages.
• Thorough understanding of preparing soft goods for production readiness.
• Strong technical acumen in product construction and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in PLM systems
• Keen eye for fit and aesthetics.
• Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with internal and external stakeholders.
• Fluency in English, with proficiency in communicating with global partners.
• In-depth knowledge of the Product Development Lifecycle and cross-functional team dynamics.
