Steve du Plessis

Steve du Plessis has over 25 years of work experience in the geospatial industry. Steve currently serves as the Director of Technology at Hexagon US Federal since October 2017. Prior to this role, they worked as an Executive Consultant and the Director of Technology and Engineering at the same company. Before joining Hexagon US Federal, they held the position of Director of Remote Sensing at Hexagon Geospatial starting from January 2014. From 2010 to 2014, they worked at Intergraph as the Global Product Line Executive - Remote Sensing and later as the Product Line Director - Photogrammetry. Steve also gained experience in business development and sales at Hexagon AB from 2009 to 2010. Earlier in their career, they worked as the Channel Manager SE Asia at Leica Geosystems in Singapore from December 2003 to January 2009. Preceding that, they held positions at ERDAS as the Channel Manager EMEA and Technical Marketing Manager. Steve began their career as the Photogrammetry Dept Manager at GIMS and worked as a Secretary at S&D Ultralite. Steve du Plessis has a diverse range of expertise and experience in the geospatial industry.

Steve du Plessis has a diverse education history. Steve started their academic journey at the University of the Witwatersrand in 1990, where they pursued a BSC degree. Following this, they transferred to Oregon State University in 1991 and completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Remote Sensing and Rangeland Resources in 1997. During this period, they also pursued a Master's degree in Rangeland Resources at Oregon State University, but it is noted as incomplete, with their enrollment spanning from 1994 to 1997.
