Summary

The Mechanic Helper will assist the on-site Mechanic with; heavy equipment and truck repair and maintenance, diagnostics, and maintaining records, shop inventory, and parts availability. This individual will need to be ready to get down and dirty to perform greasing, oil changes, and preventative maintenance.

We are seeking candidates to help us execute our project in Charlotte, NC. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with minor and major truck, trailer, and heavy equipment repairs.

  • Assist with regular preventative maintenance and inspections on service equipment.

  • Maintain, order, and pick up parts and other shop inventory.

  • Collaborate with operators and managers to diagnose problems with equipment and plan repairs.

  • Fuel and oil construction equipment.

  • Assist with regular diagnostic tests on equipment.

  • Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on equipment.

  • Assist the on-site Mechanic with other operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Assistant/Apprentice, required.

  • Experience working with Heavy (Construction) Equipment, required.

  • Valid CDL license, and hazardous materials endorsement, required.

  • ASE Diesel Certification, preferred.

  • Able to work nights and weekends.

  • Ability to gain clearance in restricted/high-security zones. (Airport AOA, Military Bases, etc.)

  • Physical capabilities required are climbing, lifting, carrying a minimum of 75 lbs., standing, sitting, walking, entering confined spaces, pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting, and performing repetitive actions.
