Susan Mukei

Economic Inclusion at HIAS

Susan Mukei has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Susan started their career as an intern at Plan International in 2010. Susan then worked as a SILC supervisor at Caritas for seven months in 2011. From 2011 onwards, they joined CARE, where they held the roles of Field Officer and Project Officer. In 2019, they became a VSLA Consultant at Ethana Associate. Susan then worked at HIAS in 2021 as part of their Economic Inclusion team, focusing on providing assistance and training to refugees. In 2022, they joined Danish Refugee Council as an Economic Recovery professional, where they contributed to the implementation of financial inclusion activities. Currently, Susan works at BRAC as a Technical Advisor for their Ultra Poor Graduation Initiative.

Susan Mukei's education history begins in 2007 when they attended the East Africa Institute of Development Studies and obtained a Diploma in Community Development. From 2012 to 2014, they studied at Chuka University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Community Development. In 2013, Susan briefly attended the Kenya Institute of Management for a course in Monitoring and Evaluation. Susan then returned to the University of Nairobi, completing a Master's degree in Project Planning and Management from 2017 to 2019. It is worth noting that they also pursued another Master's degree in Project Planning and Management at the University of Nairobi, although specific dates and completion status are not provided.
