Dr. Kendra Coates

Dr. Kendra Coates has an extensive work history in the education and social-emotional learning field. Dr. Kendra has held roles such as Regional Director of Mindset and Social and Emotional Learning at High Desert Education Service District, Professor at OSU-Cascades, Growing Early Mindsets (GEM) author at Mindset Works, and Founder of The Brain in Bloom, LLC. Dr. Kendra has also served as a consultant, certified executive coach, and certified mindfulness at work facilitator at Up by Design, LLC. Additionally, they have worked as a PreK Lab Teacher and Director at Researcher & High Desert ESD. Throughout their career, Dr. Coates has demonstrated a commitment to promoting social-emotional skills and mindfulness in educational settings.

Dr. Kendra Coates holds a B.A. in Political Science and Psychology from Pacific Lutheran University (1994-1998), an M.A.T. in PreK-12 Special Education from Pacific University (2003-2004), an M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from Portland State University (2008-2013), and a D.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of Oregon (2013-2016). Additionally, they hold various certifications, including as an Administrator and Educator, obtained in 2016 and 2019 respectively.
