Her expertise in large-scale economic forecasting provides HFE clients with a view beyond the daily data flow. Prior to joining HFE, Rubeela was Senior U.S. Economist at Stone McCarthy Research Associates (SMRA), where she was responsible for forecasting and analyzing the U.S. macro economy. She specialized in identifying underlying themes and trends that shape the outlook for monetary policy. Before SMRA, Rubeela was a Senior Economist at Ried Thunberg-ICAP, where she worked on the U.S economy and issues related to Treasury finance. She started her career on the U.S. economics team at Citibank in New York, where she worked as an economist. She also spent time on the Citi emerging markets currency desk.

Rubeela's perspective on the U.S. economy is transnational. She was born in Washington D.C. and raised in Pakistan and Dubai. She later returned to the United States, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Oklahoma and a Master's degree in economics from New York University's Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Rubeela is a former board member of the Money Marketeers of NYU.
