Duncan Smith

Duncan Smith is an accomplished leader in operations management with extensive experience in the water and transportation sectors. Currently serving as Chief Operating Officer and previously holding the role of Executive Director of Operations at National Highways, Duncan has driven transformational change resulting in over £200 million in efficiencies and improved service delivery for a workforce of 1,500. During a tenure at United Utilities, Duncan successfully centralized monitoring functions, implemented mobile technology for a workforce of 2,000, and achieved record-breaking performance in water quality and customer satisfaction. Earlier roles at Thames Water included significant contributions to cost efficiencies and infrastructure delivery. Duncan holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of Nottingham and is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
