Hillel International is looking for a Senior Director of Evaluation and Impact to lead our efforts in evaluating programs and support our movement in learning and improving from the findings. This role will work collaboratively with teams across the organization to design evaluations and help staff use the data in their planning. Reporting to the Vice President of Organizational Learning and Development, the Senior Director will partner with teams such as Grants, Measurement, Innovation, and others to elevate the role of impact evaluation across Hillel’s global work. The position is completely remote and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead Evaluation Design and Distribution: Working collaboratively with the Manager, Impact Evaluation, and across content teams to design evaluations - surveys, focus groups, and other methodologies, to assess programmatic impact.
  • Support Wide Scale Survey Projects: Provide critical expertise in designing survey-based projects across the organization, including the annual Learning and Planning survey distributed globally to Hillel professionals and survey instruments developed for the broader Hillel field to utilize. 
  • Manage Ongoing Centralization of Impact Evaluation: Ensure that impact evaluation is centralized and standardized across the organization as key elements of program design and implementation across departments at Hillel International.
  • Build and Sustain Partnerships with Teams: Build trusting and collaborative relationships with content-specific and program-based teams at Hillel International to support the centralization efforts of impact evaluation and to mentor and advise teams on utilizing evaluation data effectively in their work and planning.

Supervise and Mentor: Oversee and mentor the Manager of Impact Evaluation, fostering their professional growth and supporting the team's overall success.

What You’ll Bring: 

  • A deep understanding of impact evaluation: Your experience designing and evaluating programs and their impact has given you a sophisticated understanding of how to integrate evaluation into program management and produce actionable learnings and recommendations from evaluations.
  • Skills in survey design: You have experience writing and designing surveys of various lengths and scopes with several question formats. Experience with Alchemer and Tableau is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to analyze, synthesize, and visualize data with an eye towards action: Once data is collected, you can analyze and synthesize information and translate it into actionable insights or recommendations that can be used within program-specific teams and across the organization. You bring a robust consultative skill set and can work with teams to understand their questions and needs and ensure they have the necessary data to advance their goals and objectives.
  • Experience & Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s or advanced degree preferred; At least eight years of professional experience, including prior program evaluation experience in the nonprofit sector.

  • Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $115,000 - $135,000
