Keith Bornemann is the current Principal Accounting Officer at Hilltop Holdings. Keith has over 25 years of experience in accounting and finance, including senior positions at First Acceptance Corp and SACHEM, Inc.

Bornemann began their career at EY in 1995, where they worked for nine years before being promoted to Audit Senior Manager. In 2005, they left EY to join SACHEM, Inc as Manager of Finance and Internal Audit. Keith held this position for two years before joining First Acceptance Corp in 2007 as Vice President and Corporate Controller.

At First Acceptance Corp, Bornemann was responsible for building a strong accounting team and defining business processes for general ledger accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable and payroll. Their corporate accounting and financial reporting responsibilities included periodic SEC and private investor group reporting, internal and external financial statement preparation, auditor relationships, internal control structure, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and technical accounting advisement. Keith reported directly to the Senior VP & Chief Financial Officer, and was a member of the executive team, Chair of the corporate Disclosure Committee and member of the 401k Committee.

Bornemann left First Acceptance Corp in 2012 to join Hilltop Holdings as Principal Accounting Officer. In this role, they are responsible for all aspects of the company’s accounting and financial reporting function.

Keith Bornemann has a Masters of Professional Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA from the Texas McCombs School of Business. Keith is also certified by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

They are on a team with Wayne Becker - Corporate Treasurer and Chief Investment Officer, Toby Pennycuff - Chief Information Officer, and Matt Wood - Chief Audit Executive. Keith Bornemann reports to Jeremy B. Ford, President & Co-CEO.
