Andy Checo

Andy Checo has a diverse work experience in various fields. In 2023, they worked as a NERA Social Work Fellow at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where they gained clinical experience through shadowing and seminars. Andy also worked as a Community Mental Health Coach at MindRight Health, providing non-clinical coaching to diverse populations. In the same year, they served as a Social Work Intern at Nido de Esperanza, supporting low-income mothers in a non-profit organization. In 2021, they were the USGA Programming Co-Chair at NYU Silver School of Social Work. Additionally, they worked as a Next-Generation Consultant at hellohive in 2022. Andy has experience as a classroom tutor at various grade levels through the America Reads*America Counts program, focusing on academic support and culturally competent education. Andy also worked as an academic tutor and after-school teacher at Kairos Learning Community, assisting elementary students with academic needs. In 2021, they worked as a private tutor through GoPeer.

Andy Checo began their education history by obtaining a high school diploma from Bushwick Leaders High School for Academic Excellence in the year 2020. In the same year, they also enrolled in New York University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work, which they are expected to complete in 2024. Additionally, they pursued a double minor/concentration in Psychology and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies at New York University from 2020 to 2024. Prior to attending New York University, Andy participated in a dual-enrollment program at CUNY New York City College of Technology from 2018 to 2020, focusing on college/university preparatory studies.

Furthermore, Andy has obtained several certifications to enhance their knowledge and skills. They completed the Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, NY, Non-Supervisor certification from EasyLlama - HR & Compliance Training For Modern Teams in April 2023. They also earned the certifications "The Headspace Guide to Everyday Stress" and "The Headspace Guide to Mindful Workdays" from LinkedIn in March 2023.
