Vladimir Melamed has extensive work experience in various positions related to archive management, research, and teaching. Vladimir served as the Director of Archive and Collections at the New Center for Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles starting from December 2017. Vladimir also held the role of Director at the Research Institute for Ethno-Politica, Ethno-Nationnal Studies, and the discourses of the Holocaust, where they directed various projects related to these areas. Vladimir was also an Associate Professor at East Los Angeles College, and a Lecturer at Los Angeles ORT College-Los Angeles Campus. Furthermore, they served as the Director of Archive Library and Collections at the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust, where they focused on the history of the Holocaust and conducted research on European History and Ethno-National discourse.

Vladimir Melamed has a Doctorate in Modern East European History from the Institute of Ukrainian Studies, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, which they obtained from 1994 to 1995. Vladimir completed their Master of Arts (M.A.) in Modern European History at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv from 1988 to 1993. Vladimir also pursued a Postdoctoral Fellowship in European History at Harvard University from 2005 to 2006. Additionally, they hold a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Modern European History from the National University of Lviv, Ukraine, although the specific dates of their Ph.D. program are not provided.
