Steve Chen

Steve (Jiazhen) Chen is a seasoned software engineering leader with extensive experience in managing large teams and driving significant technological transformations. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Software Engineering at Home Partners of America, Steve leads over 50 engineers to enhance the Prop-tech platform through strategic initiatives. Prior to this role, Steve was the Senior Software Engineering Manager at Grainger, where leadership led the transition to a Microservice architecture on AWS. With a strong foundation in platform engineering at Morningstar, Steve has held various positions, from Software Engineer to Engineering Manager, delivering high-quality consumer products. Steve's earlier experiences include system engineering roles at Cisco Systems and Motorola, where process efficiencies were significantly improved. Steve holds an MBA in Strategic Management, Finance, and Entrepreneurship from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a Master of Science in Computer Science from Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
