LuWanna Williams has extensive work experience in academic and financial advancement roles. LuWanna is currently serving as the University Director at HomeFree-USA's Center for Financial Advancement since May 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the HBCU/HSI Consortium Coordinator at Grand Valley State University starting in January 2022. LuWanna also has a significant history with Fort Valley State University, where they held multiple roles including Adjunct Faculty, Executive Director of Strategic Academic Partnership from January 2018 to May 2022, and Associate Director of Athletics from October 2009 to January 2018.

LuWanna Williams has a strong educational background in the field of higher education administration. LuWanna is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education - EdD degree at the University of North Georgia, with a focus on Higher Education/Higher Education Administration. LuWanna previously completed a Master of Education - MEd degree in the same field at Capella University from 2017 to 2019. Additionally, they hold a Bachelor of Science - BS degree in Education, Middle Grades from Mercer University, obtained in 1995.
