Nnenna Okeke, PhD has worked in a variety of roles in the healthcare and research fields. In 2008, they began their career as a Cancer Information Specialist for the American Cancer Society. In 2010, they took on the roles of Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). In 2012, they became a Program Evaluator for the Texas Council on Family Violence. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as a Research Analyst for Slover Linett Audience Research, where they collaborated with fellow researchers and consultants, advised clients on incorporating research findings, and conducted qualitative and quantitative research. From 2015 to 2019, they were a Research Scientist and Project Director at NORC at the University of Chicago, where they led the development and implementation of the organization's first employee engagement and satisfaction survey and led strategic research to inform key organizational initiatives. In 2021, they joined WhatsApp as a User Experience Researcher (Individual Contributor). Most recently, in 2022, they became the Head of Research and Insights at Homeward, a technology-enabled healthcare provider delivering care to those who don’t have it.
Nnenna Okeke, PhD obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Science, Technology and Culture. Nnenna then went on to earn their Master of Arts (M.A.) from Rutgers University in Sociology. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Public Health in Public Health (Epidemiology).
