Julia Yu-Chin Cheng

Julia Yu-Chin Cheng has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Julia Yu-Chin started their career as an Adjunct Lecturer at Alethesia University in Taiwan in 2006. Afterwards, they worked as an Exchange Student under the iCAST Project at Carnegie Mellon University, where they focused on web application security, user-behavior surveillance. Julia Yu-Chin continued their involvement with the iCAST project, this time as a Senior Research Assistant at the Institute of Information Science Academia Sinica, collaborating with members of CMU and University of California, Berkeley (UCB) on cutting-edge projects.

Julia's career then took their to the National Center for High-Performance Computing, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer on the Security Department, from 2008 to 2010. Julia Yu-Chin then became a Security Consultant at EC-CERT, Institute of Information Industry, from 2010 to 2011.

In 2012, Julia joined Google as a Google Summer of Code Student, where they worked on developing an app called HpfeedsHoneyGraph to construct attack graphs from multiple sources for comprehensive attack scenarios. Julia Yu-Chin also worked as a Senior Security Researcher at National Cheng Kung University, leading a team of master students and completing security projects.

From 2011 to 2014, Julia had significant roles at The Honeynet Project, including being the Chief Workshop Officer, where they managed the annual workshops in different countries. Julia Yu-Chin also served as a Member of the Board of Directors, playing a crucial role in defining the organization's strategic vision, appointing officers, and making important decisions.

Currently, Julia works at PwC Taiwan as a Senior Associate since November 2016.

Julia Yu-Chin Cheng has a strong education background in computer science and engineering. Julia Yu-Chin started their academic journey in 2002 by enrolling in Tamkang University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BASc) degree in Computer Science. After completing their bachelor's degree in 2004, they continued their studies at National Cheng Kung University. Here, they earned a Master's degree in Institutes of Computer and Communication Engineering, which they obtained in 2006. Driven by their passion for knowledge, Julia then pursued a PhD at the same university in the field of Institutes of Computer and Communication Engineering. Julia Yu-Chin worked towards their PhD from 2006 to 2013. Apart from their formal education, Julia has also obtained a certification in ITIL v3, although specific details regarding the institution and the date of obtaining the certification are not provided.
