Malgorzata Lotallo

Director at Hopkins Biotech Network

Malgorzata Lotallo is the current Director at Hopkins Biotech Network. Prior to their current position, they worked as a Graduate Student and Clinical Research in the Dept. of Biophysics & Biophysical Chemistry at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. There, they were involved in five total collaborations and initiated two academic projects. Malgorzata also mentored two undergraduate and six graduate-level researchers. As first author, they published a study in Methods with an impact factor of 3.78. Additionally, they have two manuscripts in preparation. For their outstanding work, they were awarded the G.E. Owen Fellowship ($16 000) for best incoming students - one out of 100+ applicants and 40 interviewed. Furthermore, they were a panel presenter at major field conferences (6000 & 500 attendees) and NIH invited speaker. Her research was awarded 2M NIH R01 Grant (top 10%). Malgorzata also joined the project of Beckman Coulter, Johns Hopkins Hospital & Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Currently, they are executing clinical research studies for COVID 19 diagnostics and patient triage at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

In addition to their impressive work history, Lotallo is also a Co-Founder of Nucleate Bio Baltimore and Co-Director of Entrepreneurship at Hopkins Biotech Network. Malgorzata has been with Nucleate for 1 year 2 months and Hopkins Biotech Network for 2 years 6 months. As Discover Entrepreneurship Series coordinator, they created marketing material for a series of four events designed to enable young, aspiring entrepreneurs (Johns Hopkins students) to hear from experts in their fields about their entrepreneurial journey, local and national posibilities. Malgorzata also organized and coordinated the BioPitch Competition - a pitch competition for all JHU community members with a month-long preparation period with local mentors who have bisiness experience.
