Joost Ouwerkerk

Joost Ouwerkerk is the co-founder and Head of Engineering at Hopper. Joost has also served as the CTO at Hopper from January 2012 to December 2020. Prior to that, they were a Fellow at Creative Destruction Lab - Montreal from January 2020 to December 2022. Ouwerkerk began their career as a software developer at Netvention Inc. from January 2000 to December 2001 and then at Newtrade Technologies from January 2001 to December 2002. Joost later became a Product Manager at Expedia from January 2003 to December 2007, where they developed the API platform that now underpins Expedia's hotel supply network.

Joost Ouwerkerk has a BA from McGill University, an MA from the University of Amsterdam, and a DESS in Software Engineering from the École de technologie supérieure.

Joost Ouwerkerk reports to Alex Campeau, VP, Engineering. They are on a team with Vincent L. - Director of Software Development, Philippe Laflamme - Software Architecht.
