Brett Bowen

Brett Bowen has a diverse and extensive work experience in the banking and finance industry. Brett is currently working as the Vice President and Senior Commercial Loan Officer at Horizon Bank since September 2021. Prior to that, they were the VP Commercial Banking at mBank from September 2019 to September 2021. In 2019, they worked as an independent contractor for banking, finance, treasury, and accounting.

From 2014 to 2019, Brett served as the Vice President, Commercial Lender II at Chemical Bank and received the 2014 SBA Champion Award. Before that, they worked as a Commercial Banking Relationship Manager II at Flagstar Bank from December 2011 to December 2013, where they mentored regional branch managers.

Brett also has experience in international treasury and banking operations. Brett worked as a Banking Specialist for the Americas (International Treasury) at Priceline.com/Booking.com BV from April 2010 to April 2011.

Earlier in their career, they worked as an Assistant Vice President Private Banking at Fifth Third Bank from October 2003 to February 2007, where they received awards for their performance. Brett also has experience working in commercial banking and lending roles at large regional banks from 2000 to 2003.

Brett has a military background, having served in the US Army from October 1992 to October 1997. Brett received an honorable discharge and obtained certifications in Korean, Spanish, and foreign language cryptology.

Brett Bowen, CTP has a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Colorado State University. Additionally, they have obtained the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation in International Treasury / Global Cash Management from the Association for Financial Professionals in 2010. Brett Bowen also has language studies in Korean from the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center and Spanish with a focus on Business from Indiana University Bloomington. Brett also holds the NMLS - National Mortgage Licensing System Registration certification from the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS).
