Eric Sommer

Eric Sommer has a strong background in the banking and financial industry, with experience in various roles. Eric began their career in 2002 as an Accountant at Alliance Bank, where they worked until 2005. From 2005 to 2007, they served as an Audit In-Charge at Plante Moran, completing external and internal audits for financial institutions in the Chicagoland area.

In 2007, Eric joined The LaPorte Savings Bank as an Assistant Vice President and Controller. In this role, they were responsible for preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, as well as required SEC filings. Eric also played a significant role in the merger of The LaPorte Savings Bank and City Savings Bank, as well as LaPorte Bancorp's initial public offering in 2007. Eric remained with The LaPorte Savings Bank until 2016.

Since 2016, Eric has been working at Horizon Bank. Eric initially served as an Assistant Vice President and Assistant Controller, before being promoted to Vice President and Controller in 2020. In their current role, Eric oversees the financial operations of the bank and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.

Eric Sommer attended Purdue University - Krannert School of Management from 1997 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
