Roman Blount IV

Direct Patient Volunteer at Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro

Roman Blount, IV is currently a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, where ongoing medical education is pursued. As a Graduate Research Assistant at NC A&T State University, Roman leads research in producing alginate hydrogel beads encapsulating metallic ions and coordinates lab activities. Roman actively volunteers as a Direct Patient Volunteer with Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, providing support to patients in their final stages of life. Additionally, Roman serves as the pianist at St. Paul Presbyterian Church and has previous research experience in developing an activated carbon filtration system and utilizing mathematical models in biomedical applications. Roman holds a Master of Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Biological/Biosystems Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University, along with a study abroad experience at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná.
