Jim di Mattia

Jim Di Mattia has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Jim started their career at Verizon in 2004, where they held various roles, including Manager - Distinguished Member of Technical Staff. In this role, they managed a team that provided architecture designs and network deployment plans for Verizon's FiOS network. Jim also worked on integrating new technologies into the service.

In 2012, Jim joined Verizon Media as Director - Video Architecture. Jim built a team that designed the Digital Media Services Product and launched TV Everywhere (OTT) products for cell phones and consumer electronic devices. Jim also completed an adaptive bit rate (ABR) linear content service using Apple HLS.

From 2014 to 2018, Jim worked at Verizon as Director - Video Platform and Director - Internet of Things. In these roles, they were responsible for system engineering, architecture, security governance, and client software development. Jim led the delivery of new IoT products and managed video architects, security governance engineers, and IP video operation centers for a TV Everywhere streaming solution.

Jim then joined ViacomCBS in 2019 as Director - Media & Broadcast Engineering. Jim was responsible for the broadcast and media engineering of Viacom content to affiliates in North and South America. Jim led their team through a transformation to virtual machines and relocated the disaster recovery site from the USA to the United Kingdom.

Most recently, Jim worked at Disney Streaming as Director Of System Engineering-Broadcast. Jim was responsible for system engineering and played a key role in the broadcast operations.

In 2023, Jim joined Hotwire Communications Ltd as the Senior Director of Video Engineering, where they continue to contribute their expertise in the field.
