James Billings

James Billings is the current Senior QA Manager at HourWork. Prior to this, they were with Express Employment Professionals from October 2019 to December 2021, where they served as Sr. IT Quality Assurance Manager. In this role, they were responsible for collaborating with development and business team leads to plan testing activities across multiple projects, as well as regularly reviewing and improving testing strategies and plans. James also managed and coached a team of 7+ QA Analysts and Engineers, and was responsible for managing internal QA team members as well as integrated outsourced QA resources.

In their previous role, James also led the planning and development of an automation test framework that integrated test scripts for native mobile apps, web apps, and APIs in a single testing framework (Robot Framework). James has also tested browser and mobile applications across all supported browsers and platforms, as well as APIs using Postman and other automated testing tools. Additionally, they have experience in change management, having designed and implemented Tier 3 support processes, and providing Tier 3 support for multiple internal software solutions by troubleshooting and resolving incidents where possible.

James Billings has a BS in Computer Information Systems and a BS in Multimedia Instructional Design from Cameron University. James also has a certification from ASTQB in ISTQB Certified Foundation Level Business Analyst, Certified Tester, Foundation Level Agile Tester, Certified Tester, Advanced Level Test Analyst, Certified Tester, Advanced Level Test Manager, Certified Tester, Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer, Certified Tester, Foundation Level, and AT*SQA Testing Essentials.
