Amber Haywood

Amber Haywood has a diverse and extensive work experience. Amber is currently the Director of Development for the Schools of Divinity, Education, and Social Work at Howard University, a position they started in November 2022. Prior to this, Amber served as the Chief Executive Officer of Fundraise Inc. starting in April 2020. Amber also worked as a Senior Development & Grant Associate at Raheem from January to September 2022.

Amber's experience in development and fundraising includes roles such as Development Director at Alabama Arise from November 2020 to January 2022, where they demonstrated strong leadership skills and achieved significant revenue growth. Amber has also worked at Teach For America, serving as the Director of Development from July to November 2020, and previously as the Manager of Development from June 2017 to July 2020.

Their earlier work experience includes positions at A+ Education Partnership as the Training and Communications Director from June 2015 to May 2017, and at The Kings Ranch and Hannah Homes as an Assistant Family Teaching Parent from March 2013 to June 2015. Amber also gained experience in coaching and member engagement as an Impact Services Member Engagement Team Coach at Daxko from August 2012 to March 2013.

Lastly, they worked as an Assistant Manager at ArdenB from September 2008 to January 2013, showcasing their skills in retail management. Amber's diverse background and proven success in various developmental and leadership roles make their a highly experienced professional in the field.

Amber Haywood obtained an Executive Certificate in Social Impact Strategy from the University of Pennsylvania in 2023. Prior to that, from 2020 to 2021, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Additionally, from 2009 to 2015, they completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in African-American/Black Studies, also from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
