David P. Bennett

David Bennett is an accomplished fundraising executive with extensive experience in leadership roles across non-profit organizations and universities. Currently serving as Senior Vice President for Development & Alumni Relations at Howard University since August 2017, Bennett has successfully transformed the institution's fundraising program, achieving an average of over $125 million in private support annually over the past four years. Previously, Bennett held several key positions at National Geographic, including Chief Development Officer, where revenue increased from $16 million to $42 million. Additional experience includes serving as Chief Advancement Officer for Safe Kids Worldwide and Vice President of Development at United Cerebral Palsy of America. Bennett began a career in political finance and consulting, contributing to various campaigns and organizations. Educational credentials include an Executive MBA from Howard University and a B.A. in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia.
