Shi Da has a diverse and extensive work experience. Starting in 2008, Shi Da worked in partnership and communications for the Government of British Columbia, where they assisted in a PR campaign for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics in China. They also served as a liaison between business and government organizations in China and Canada.
From 2009 to 2014, Shi Da worked for The New York Times as a newsroom contributor, focusing on China's political, social, and economic issues. They covered a wide range of topics and contributed to nearly 100 stories, including breaking news, investigative reporting, and feature stories.
In 2014, Shi Da joined Glow Digital Media as a digital marketing professional. They pitched, managed, and up-sold a portfolio of Chinese advertisers targeting international markets. They also worked closely with product managers to fix technical issues and introduce new features.
From 2016 to 2018, Shi Da worked at 5miles LLC, leading integrated digital marketing campaigns aimed at the US market. They managed campaign budgets, defined objectives, and drove project execution. Additionally, they identified and tested new marketing channels.
In 2018, Shi Da joined TikTok as a Senior Product Manager, where they held this position until 2021. They were responsible for product management and played a significant role in the company's growth.
From 2021 to 2023, Shi Da worked for ByteDance as a Product Lead in Music Publishing and Promotion. They focused on artist services and played a crucial role in the development and promotion of music-related products.
Currently, Shi Da is the Head of Content Creator Partnerships for North America and LATAM (HoYoCreators) at HoYoverse, a position they have held since 2023.
Shi Da attended Beijing Foreign Studies University from 2004 to 2008, focusing on English Language and Literature.
