Matthew Brua, PE has extensive work experience in the field of civil engineering. Matthew began their career as a Field Engineer Intern at the South Dakota Department of Transportation in 2009, where they worked on various transportation projects and performed topographical surveys. In 2010, they joined Sayre Associates as a Construction Observation Technician, overseeing the installation of storm sewer pipes and geopier installations. Matthew returned to the South Dakota Department of Transportation as a Field Engineer Intern in 2011, inspecting mill and overlays, ADA upgrades, and a new asphalt lay down. In 2012, they worked as a Construction Observation Technician at Sayre Associates before joining South Dakota State University as a Graduate Assistant in 2011, where they assisted professors and graded homework in transportation programs. In 2013, they joined the State of Minnesota as a Detail Design Engineer, serving as a project manager for consultant design contracts and training Graduate Engineer Trainees. Since 2016, Matthew Brua has been working at HR Green, Inc. Initially, they served as a Project Engineer, responsible for reconstruction projects for various state departments of transportation and the City of Sioux City. Currently, they hold the position of Project Manager, overseeing MnDOT projects and leading design teams for a wide range of infrastructure projects including recreation trails, highway ramps, intersection realignments, and bridge replacements.

Matthew Brua, PE completed their education at South Dakota State University. In 2010, they earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Matthew then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science degree in Transportation Engineering from the same university in 2012.

In addition to their academic achievements, Matthew Brua, PE has obtained multiple certifications as a Professional Engineer. Matthew received the Professional Engineer certification from the South Dakota Board of Technical Professions in July 2016. The following year, in July 2017, they obtained the same certification from the Minnesota Board of AELSLAGID. Most recently, they obtained the Professional Engineer certification from the Iowa Professional Licensing Bureau in August 2017.
